The End of Us (Shakespearean Sonnet)

Human civilization gone and dead,
for extreamiphiles had met their match.
Though even the atmosphere had long fled,
nothing is left but a civil war hatch.

With the particles just too far from us
and dark matter had expanded too far,
with asteroids screaming for and to thus,
leaving robot parts on once mobile cars.

But we speak of plans to prevent it all,
when human works human for one nation.
We speak of living for the large and small,
but are nothing like peaceful cessations.

If we really want to live forever,
we must collaborate right now, at once,
be confident, stricrt, and certainly clever.
For our end may be due to a plain dunce.

The great mountain Buddha leaves humans' shreds,
while humanity is long, gone, and dead.

~~~~~
"The great mountain Buddha" refers to the worlds tallest statue, the "Spring Temple Buddha". It  reaches 208 metres (682 feet) into the sky including the building it stands upon with its two pedestals. It will most likely be one of the remains of humanity once we are gone.
Please excuse my extra quatrain, I felt that the extra one was necessary to convey my feelings towards the survival of the human civilization.
  1. I am speechless. This clearly took great thought,careful planning, and strategic word choice. The couplet at the end is haunting.
