GIFT (Free verse)

Take this
GIFT
from me to you.
It won't bring you sadness
yet will slay your misfortune.

Take this
GIFT
for me, for you.
It's better than that
rope necklace.

Take this
GIFT
for those, not me.
It will bring you sleep
and eternal happiness.
With everybody so sad
it brings me to tears.
Let them
rest
and cherish the content days.

Take this
GIFT
to those listening;
the economy will bite you
if you don't come
home

Take this
GIFT
from us to thee.
Your
parents
won't be happy if you arrive late.

The question remains;
are you brave enough to take it?

Destroy this
GIFT
discard it for me, for all.
Lower the amount of tragedies
and destroy the laws of
judgment.
Every time you say something
that risks hatred
or could even damage you economecly
you
are one step closer to an
issue.

If you're not quite sure what this "GIFT" is, try to translate it from German. This poem may seem very creepy in a way, with someone sounding like they're suggesting murder. Don't fret, this poem talks of the many suicides we see today. If you understand what "GIFT" means, then this free verse will make much more sense. Many suicides are due to depression which is caused by economic disadvantages, judgment bullying, or other things like abuse.

  1. Kristy I like the way you used "gift" and not actually meaning a gift you give someone, you gave it a double meaning.
