Dead and Seek (Free Verse)

Hey, how will you get out this time?
You're like and owl who seems smart but is useless.
This society will eat up everything,
sorry but the unique will be perished.

In this poor excuse of an experiment
I'll seek, you die.
Search through these mysterious papers
to find the objective.
There will always be casualties,
so process the documents and update the files.

We live in societies were
we are punished for accepting others,
So let us play a game of dead and seek.

Can you hear the computers
running?

Quantum Mechanics (Quatrain)

Let us take a step through physics
to a strand I especially enjoy,
something called quantum mechanics.
With nuclear fusions and Swiss hadron toys.

Alliteration (Free Verse)

Alliteration angers all
because it broke barriers of
content, concealing colliding countries.
Distracting distressful disasters.
Engulfing erasers, elevating
fusion. (Street) Fighters freaking don't
get grape greatness,
however heroes hating do.
Ignorant iguanas aren't intelligent,
judging juxtaposition. Just
kangaroos feel (k)courage,
lacking leaping lard fear.
Monotone mangos  meditate,
not naked nan.
Open operators offer
pandas, peaches, and pears.
Quirky  (q)clusters quench
rotated ripe roosters.
Slopy salamanders slide
towards Toronto to
uvail uncliped
vertices on vails
with Winston (Churchill).
Xian,
you
zoom?

~~~
I apologize for the randomness of this post. I was practicing alliteration.
Death (Quatrain)
You scream and you wail
For you are the destructive truth
As you attempt to find our youth.
You, my yet to be friend, are hard as nails.
Life (Quatrain)
You are like a black tipped dove,
An elegant yet vicious swan.
Some would question your existence
While others just sit and fawn.
Oil Spill (Haiku)
Once upon a time
the worlds "black gold" had been spilled,
the death of some life.
East & West (Diamante)
                       East
                   Red, Gold
Fighting, Trading, "Gangnam Styling"
       Third, East, First, Wealth
Arguing, Purchasing, "Party-Rocking"
                  Green, Blue
                       West
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Red & gold refer to the colours of communism and socialism while green & blue refer to the colour of money (green) and the opposing colour of communist red (blue).

"Gangnam Styling" refers to the popular South Korean song, "Gangam Style" by PSY.

"Party-Rocking" refers the the popular American song, "Party Rock Anthem" by the band LMAFO.

Internal Corruption (Haiku)

Repent and retreat
the internal corruption
of the governments.

Change (Free Verse)

"A change is what must happen"
said nearly everyone.
Even the trees cry
"No, I would prefer not to disappear"
If we all can agree, then why do we make things worse?
If seven billion would do the change,
then why do we all do nothing?
"There are more humanly problems then that of Earthly"
said some politicians.
Like an unfinished coloured cube,
we give up more often then trying to fix things

Everything comes to an end,
including internet memes, fame, and existence.
"If that is the case, then why do we even try?"
"Because the odds of life are in our favor"

If all we're calling for is change,
then why is it so difficult?
"Because politians and environmentalists don't mix"
"Because capitalists, socialists, and communists
 are always at each others' necks"

Change in our behavior to the Earth
or to each other?
We say we do it for our children
when really we do it for our selves' satisfaction
for doing the right thing.

~~~~~~
The "coloured cube" refers to the classic 70's toy, the "Rubix Cube".
"Because the odds of life are in our favor" is referring to the slim chance of life in space. The chance of intelligent life is even slimmer. Obviously the odds of life are in our (humanity's) favor. We need to persevere life as best as possible.
Maybe Society (Free verse)
As economies and commerce continue on
society's standards continue to rise.
We speak and we walk while
terrible things
(maybe)
continue to ponder during halcyon days.
Nuclear, biological, and chemical
warfare
cover our Earth and produce
disaster.
As Fritz Haber's discoveries are
(maybe)
unintentionally and positively
benefiting
us all.
I sit and wait
at the edge of my chair,
as North Korea
(maybe)
threatens for
a nuclear war.
Oil spills, marathon bombers,
and pacifist killers
scatter over the news
while Syrian civil wars go unheard.
Societies care for only what they want.
For each others, not so much as it seems.
"Love thine neighbor" does not work for
even christian societies.
We pretend to care in our luxury chairs
but we honestly just want more money.
I have a dream that three score and twelve years ago,
that when the
US
bombed Japan after the harbor of the ouster
the outcome was much worse.
Before you start an internet flame war
this isn't because I dislike the Japanese
but only because if that were to happen,
our societies today may value the things that
kept the human race going.
(Maybe)
Societies would have endorsed the
destruction of harmful weapons
I sit, and I wait, and I hope for the day
that Einstein's words were never real.
That life in space is what we make of it
and that everything is very
(possibly)
real.
Society, dear society,
reduce the number of tragedies.
~~~~~
Fritz Haber was a German scientist during the WW2 era. He wanted the Nazis to take the globe and attempted to create biological and chemical weapons. He made many things that would positivly benifet societies, like modern day fertilizer. These inventions were unintentionaly created.

"Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one"
- Albert Einstein

Theory of Happiness (Free Verse)

It starts with you
and the people around
as socializing is near mindless.
With money, you could buy
the whole world.
Including the people in it,
the emotions brought with them,
the economics,
the communist reds,
and capitalist blues.
The doves & crows,
the warm baked cookies,
the veterans coming home,
and the theories.
Shall we begin our auction?

We live a world where
money can buy you anything,
we'll just have patents pending.
Emotions occur when your
nerves react to certain things.
These formals start with those around you.
With that "we" are altogether
marching forward.

Humans, we're strange things
having mercy and such.
we risk our own survival to help
others (us) in which, brings us joy.

If that's the situation
then I suppose this theory says
happiness could equal life?

~~~~
"We" is another way to say "mankind" or "the human race" etc...
Humanity (Shakespearean Sonnet)
Enjoy the thought of humanity as "us".
Every person is an individual cell.
Some take more damage than many others
while some would do next to nothing, I tell.
Millions would defend some billions
as some would be the feet, help us move on.
Others would rather help us grow in size
for so many would continue to spawn.
Some would be the build up of the muscles
while others would be at the brain systems.
Many would produce our many resources
and continue our feudalism.
Left foot, right foot, we continue to walk.
Into the future, that's what we must stalk.
Countries (Free Verse)
"What is a country?" asked a little girl.
"Is it a group of people alike?"
The adults laughed like coyotes
and continued through their stressful lives
under the blazing sun.
Little did they know that they didn't
have a better answer that that
little girl.
Voyager One (Quatrains)
Voyage one, carrying mankind farther than ever,
launched in 1977, you soar like a hawk through interstellar space.
You, our governor, carry the golden record with our information,
while you travel at a 17 kilometers per second, a steady pace.
When you stop working,
you'll be our beacon through time.
May your metal parts fly to the (non-existent) edge
as the center of the universe continues to climb.
~~~~~~~~~~
Voyager one is the farthest man-made object from Earth. It carries a "golden record" that keeps recordings of "Earthly" things, including recordings of Mozart, Blind Willey Johnson, the Beatles, forests, greetings from various world leaders, and much more.

The last line refers to the fact that the center of the (known) universe is every where. The observational universe is only view able based on how much light reaches said observer. Based on this, "the center of the universe continues to climb" the center of the universe is upon whose eyes we view from.

Winter (Haiku)

Sparrows love the snow
when shadows swallow the room
and days come to ends.

Fruit Fly (Haiku)

As the sky clashes
a single fruit fly's lair lays
on the ground of humans.

The End of Us (Shakespearean Sonnet)

Human civilization gone and dead,
for extreamiphiles had met their match.
Though even the atmosphere had long fled,
nothing is left but a civil war hatch.

With the particles just too far from us
and dark matter had expanded too far,
with asteroids screaming for and to thus,
leaving robot parts on once mobile cars.

But we speak of plans to prevent it all,
when human works human for one nation.
We speak of living for the large and small,
but are nothing like peaceful cessations.

If we really want to live forever,
we must collaborate right now, at once,
be confident, stricrt, and certainly clever.
For our end may be due to a plain dunce.

The great mountain Buddha leaves humans' shreds,
while humanity is long, gone, and dead.

~~~~~
"The great mountain Buddha" refers to the worlds tallest statue, the "Spring Temple Buddha". It  reaches 208 metres (682 feet) into the sky including the building it stands upon with its two pedestals. It will most likely be one of the remains of humanity once we are gone.
Please excuse my extra quatrain, I felt that the extra one was necessary to convey my feelings towards the survival of the human civilization.
GIFT (Free verse)
Take this
GIFT
from me to you.
It won't bring you sadness
yet will slay your misfortune.
Take this
GIFT
for me, for you.
It's better than that
rope necklace.
Take this
GIFT
for those, not me.
It will bring you sleep
and eternal happiness.
With everybody so sad
it brings me to tears.
Let them
rest
and cherish the content days.
Take this
GIFT
to those listening;
the economy will bite you
if you don't come
home
Take this
GIFT
from us to thee.
Your
parents
won't be happy if you arrive late.
The question remains;
are you brave enough to take it?
Destroy this
GIFT
discard it for me, for all.
Lower the amount of tragedies
and destroy the laws of
judgment.
Every time you say something
that risks hatred
or could even damage you economecly
you
are one step closer to an
issue.
~~~~~~
If you're not quite sure what this "GIFT" is, try to translate it from German. This poem may seem very creepy in a way, with someone sounding like they're suggesting murder. Don't fret, this poem talks of the many suicides we see today. If you understand what "GIFT" means, then this free verse will make much more sense. Many suicides are due to depression which is caused by economic disadvantages, judgment bullying, or other things like abuse.

Describe the Universe (Haiku)

Some say it is string,
others describe planck constants,
these are all theories.

~~~~
"String" refers to string theory.
To fully understand what the "plank constant" is, i would suggest searching is on Wikipedia.
Advertisement (Quatrain)
Have yourself
a hot slice of advertisement.
It wont grant you wealth
though to your (mental) health, an abandonment.
Socialism & Capitalism (Diamante)
                  Socialism
                 Equal, Fair
  Working, Shrinking,  Self-producing
   East, Marxism , West, Mercantilism
  Destroying, Rebuilding, Investing
             Wealth, Profitable
                  Capitalism
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please note that socialism and capitalism are imperfect opposites.

An Explanation

Tea biscuits, quantum theory, and Pandas have nothing obvious in common. Though one that was certainly not expected was that they are regarded by average people as unimportant, or at least sought as less than what it really is, is that all of these unrelated topics are important and significant to our culture and society. Tea biscuits,  a delightful snack that could not possibly be important in any way or manner, is the result of thousands of years of human development. These pastries must exported . Almost all goods in this modern age need to cross oceans that take (usually) less than a day. Technology has brought us to the time where only the wealthiest of (the already wealthy) people can afford having goods made in their country. Less than a few hundred years ago, even the rich had tough times purchasing products from foreign lands. Tea biscuits are the result of our technological advancement, that is certainly significant enough to be important.

Quantum mechanics ( or quantum theory) is a topic that i have had a vague interest of for a long time. It's a branch of physics, an already beautifully complicated field in science, that investigates mathematical descriptions for particles' behaviors and actions. It's a very confusing subject that most people wouldn't want to poke with a 10 metre stick and simply regard it as something out of their profession and interest. This is a sad fate for not only quantum mechanics, but also, very often, for the entire field of science. Society does what it wants, it wont complete tasks "the hard or logical way". It would spend 13.92 billion dollars on the 2012 London Olympics but invest only 17 percent of that amount on sending a rover to mars for research.  The Olympics are all cultural event, people care about that more than the possible place for human colonists or life. If society continues to be unable to think with complexity and logicaly, we will be continuously stuck in a cycle where much more money is spent on television programs about idiotic celebrities that our youth worship than on logical important things like how to prevent obesity or on studies for extraterrestrial life.

After my first visit to China while I was a young child,  I had fallen instantly in love with the back and white bear; the panda. My parents had told me that they were an endangered species. It wasn't until a year later that I had found out that they're million dollar bears. Multiple arguments were on this topic, most of which were stating multiple times that they were a huge waste of money. Zoos would need to pay one million dollars a year to rent out one panda. Many argued that pandas would just go extinct due to natural selection. What frightens me the most is that there is an argument on how conserving wildlife is a waste of money. This happens to most endangered species. An attempt to reintroduce a species back into the wild is mankind attempting to fix a mistake. Money shouldn't be an issue for these pandas because the money made from the zoos goes back to the panda research. Humans care more for their human needs (in this situation, money) more than anything else.

This blog's posts will be poetry and based on one theme; topics that are certainly important. I have seen poetry blogs posting where there would be diamente comparing "sun and moon". What you will see on this blog will be nowhere near as simple as that Diamante. What you will be reading will be of economics, science, technology,  communication, religion, rights, conflicts, and anything that is significant to the evolution or decimation of the societies of industrial nations, newly industrial nations, and the developing world. The human race is at the time of concern. The very next day after you read this, the world may disappear from a nuclear weapons that North Korea spoke of or a war for oil or fresh water may brake out. I'm using this blog not only because my teacher will use it for marks, but to speak of things of importance after a long day of hearing of celebrities and how much some students hate education. The human race needs to make a list of factors that keep it going and figure out how to keep them here, that's where this blog comes in.
